Kitlocker.com’s Sheffield HQ recently played host to two classes from Seven Hills School. A local school for students with special educational needs.

The school was looking for a business that could show their students how a workplace operates, as well as looking at things like health and safety signage and best practices. And we were more than happy to oblige, after being introduced via Sheffield City Council’s “See It Be It” programme.

As well as the curriculum based activities, we also had the pleasure of helping to bring the students’ brilliantly designed football shirts to life in our production area.

Each class worked hard on designing their own football kits, each with a specific inspiration behind them. They were then digitised by our design team and printed on site.

It was great to be able to show the students how the process works from start to finish. They even got the chance to try their hands at taking photographs of their shirts in our photography studio.

There are definitely some budding kid designers, photographers and even models in both classes!

It was a real pleasure to have the students with us and we hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we did.

Check out the video below to see some of what they got up to ⬇️

Teacher, Ruby Williamson said- “Our class had a fantastic visit to Kitlocker, it was really engaging and the students loved seeing their t-shirt designs come to life. Experiencing the warehouse and office settings was also really valuable for our students, as they begin to think about where they would like to work in the future. Thank you to everyone involved in making our trip so fun!”

When asked about their trip, members of Ruby’s class said – “It was so cool to see all the space they had in the warehouse” and “I loved seeing my t-shirt being printed!”

Teacher, Tom Daniels said – “This was an excellent opportunity for the students in my class take a t-shirt design that they created as a group. And then make their designs personalised by adding the name that they had chosen to the shirts. This opportunity that Kitlocker provided gave my students a great reason to practice their social skills, their interpersonal skills and their negotiation skills, as they discussed and accommodated the designs that they created as a team.

The experience also gave my students an insight into the world of work in a workplace that was young and dynamic. As well as this, the guys at Kitlocker went above and beyond what they needed to do by welcoming my students into their workspace with warmth and an understanding of their individual needs. The Kitlocker Crew are amazing!”
