Back in August we had the pleasure of hosting a very special event for a number of our Nike Partner Clubs at St. George’s Park, the home of the England national teams.

As part of our Summer Series 2023 events, we split the day into two halves, with an U14s tournament in the morning and an U16s tournament in the afternoon.

The venue for the day was SGP’s state of the art indoor pitch which was built to replicate the exact dimensions of the Wembley Stadium surface.

There were four Nike Partner Clubs competing in each tournament hailing from all over the country.

The morning U14s tournament featured Belvedere Park, Kibworth Town, Whitehaven FC and Tintwistle Athletic. Then in the afternoon, it was the turn of the U16s tournament involving Bure Park, Droylsden, Formby CFC and Sale United.

All of the teams impressed us, both with the standard of football on the pitch and the way in which they conducted themselves off of it.

But it was Kibworth Town U14s and Bure Park U16s that came away with the trophies. Both navigating dramatic penalty shootouts in their final matches to claim victory.

It was an incredible day for all involved and is a prime example of why the NPC programme can be so valuable to be a part of.
