Here at Kitlocker.com, we’ve always been massive supporters of grassroots football. It’s where everyone starts their footballing journey, whether they are Sunday league players or professionals. It truly is the backbone of the British game and a massive part of our local communities but these clubs wouldn’t exist without the hard work and dedication of the individuals involved. We’ve decided to show some love to five deserving grassroots clubs with our new Kitlocker.com Grassroots Grants.
What are Kitlocker.com Grassroots Grants?
We know it can be incredibly difficult to raise the finance to refresh old kits, buy new equipment and even get hold of some decent footballs. Our National Kit Survey highlighted that many clubs are forced to go without vital products due to a lack of funds. We want to help, by offering your club the opportunity to get hold of a Grassroots Grant to use on Kitlocker.com.
Whether it’s playing kit, trainingwear, equipment or anything else a football club might need, we’ve got it. And with huge discounts on product ranges from the likes of Nike and adidas, you’ll be able to stretch your share of the £2000 even further. Also, with our in-house printing and embroidery service you will be able to add the personal touch to your products if required.
If your club has a story to tell about a triumph over adversity, dedication to the cause or one of grassroots football’s great characters then we want to know about it. To tell us your story and be in the running for one of five grants, worth a total of £2000, follow the instructions below. We’re expecting to receive a lot of interest in this, but we can only pick five, so make sure your application is as strong as possible!
What are we looking for?
We are pretty open and welcome applications that are creative as possible. The most important thing is that if your club has a great story to tell or something to be proud of then we want to know about it. The criteria are pretty loose, but here are some examples just to give you an idea:
- Stories of triumphs over adversity.
- Initiatives by your club which are making a difference in the local community.
- Celebrating great characters of the grassroots game, who are the lifeblood of your club.
- How your club is embracing inclusivity and diversity.
How to apply for a Kitlocker.com Grassroots Grant

Those selected to receive a Kitlocker.com Grassroots Grant will receive a Kitlocker.com voucher for a share of the £2000 fund. Each grant is valid for one year and you cannot use it in conjunction with any other offer or redeem it for cash. All apparel purchased with the voucher will come with a small printed Kitlocker.com logo, leaving plenty of space for you to add any of your own sponsor logos.
You don’t have to be a current Kitlocker.com customer to apply. Individuals can only apply once but there is no limit per club, so spread the word about Kitlocker.com Grassroots Grants to fellow club members, friends and family and get them involved in helping tell your story.

Hi, We are a recently formed open age football team in Wigan called Wigan FC.
We are a group of mostly 30+ year olds who have decided to make another go of it after playing together over 10 years ago. We are giving it one more go! We have gone straight into the top amateur division in Wigan and have started well!
Some of the players have lost their way over the past few years and the hope is that we can pull together and support all of our men through the spirit of the team. Get them back on the straight and narrow.
We are currently struggling for kit and equipment and to raise funds for the day-to-day running of the team. Any help would be massively appreciated!
