Welcome to the first instalment of a new regular feature where we compile a load of “cool stuff” we’ve spotted around socials, in the news and anywhere else.

We’re talking funny stories, videos, kit releases and beyond. All from the weird and wonderful world of sport.

And if we miss anything that you think we should include, then we wanna see it. So just give us a shout.

Anyway, have a look below and you’ll get the idea of what it’s all about ⬇️

Fortuna Düsseldorf release special edition shirt designed by local artist 🎨

Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Düsseldorf have worked with local artist Jacques Tilly for their new away strip.

The new adidas kit celebrates the connection between the club and the city in Tilly’s unique style.

Interestingly, the kit is a pretty standard adidas teamwear shirt, with the artist’s design printed onto it. And it’s exactly the kind of thing we love doing with our #PowerUp service. See South Shields Community Shirt.

If you can find a local artist who wants to design a shirt for you. Then we want to print it.

Anyway, you can read more about the Fortuna Düsseldorf shirt on Footy Headlines.

Wales C 4-0 England C ⚽

Never knew Wales and England had C teams? You can probably be forgiven. Wales C is made up of players from the JD Cymru Premier, whilst England C is the best players from non-league (National League and below). Wales C turned out to be emphatic 4-0 winners on the day.

Tonnes of well known names have used England C as a springboard for their careers. And just because we wanted to, we’ve made a list of former England C internationals who are currently plying their trades in the upper echelons of football:

  • Sam Clucas – Stoke City
  • Aden Flint – Cardiff City
  • Andre Gray – QPR & Jamaica
  • Jamal Lowe – Bournemouth & Jamaica
  • Kieffer Moore – Bournemouth & Wales
  • Michael Morrison – Reading
  • James Norwood – Ipswich Town
  • Ethan Pinnock – Brentford & Jamaica
  • Sean Raggett – Portsmouth
  • Marc Roberts – Birmingham City
  • Andy Yiadom – Reading & Ghana

Non-League Day 2022 📅

After a two year hiatus due to you know what, Non-League Day returned on the 26th of March.

Non-League Day falls during the March international break when there are no Premier League or Championship games. The aim is to shine a light on non-league football and get people down to their local club for a game.

Our personal highlight this year was our mates at South Shields FC playing host to the BBC’s Football Focus for the day.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid breaks attendance record for women’s football match ⚽

An incredible 91,533 people flocked to watched the Champions League Semi-Final between the two Spanish giants.

The game finished 5-2 to Barca, who progressed to the final after winning 8-3 on aggregate.

The previous record of 90, 185 has been held since 1999 at a Women’s World Cup match between USA and China at The Rose Bowl.

The young keeper’s screamer that went viral 🚀

When Gedling Panthers U12 Goalkeeper Charlie Clarke turned up for his match a couple of Sundays ago, he wouldn’t have expected to have gone viral by the end of the day.

But that’s exactly what happened when he won the game in the last minute with a sublime strike from his own half.

If you haven’t seen it. Feast your eyes. And take a bow Charlie 👏

We’re closing this edition with an interesting choice of footwear and whole outfit to be honest, from Leeds and England’s Kalvin Phillips.

They call him “The Yorkshire Pirlo” but we don’t think Andrea would be seen dead in that get up 😅

Send us cool stuff plz 🙏

If you spot anything sport related that you think we should include in next month’s edition then give us a shout, tag us, message us. You know the drill.

If we include it we’ll give you a credit and maybe even a nice little Kitlocker.com voucher if we REALLY like it.
