It’s finally back. Grassroots football officially returns this week. It won’t quite be as we know and love it. But it feels very, very good to have the beautiful game back in our parks and playing fields.
We’ve all had much bigger things to worry about over the last few months. But now we’re inching closer to football’s comeback, it’s time to start thinking about your club’s new match kit.
We’ve got literally hundreds of match kits to choose from, not to mention the limitless possibilities created by #PowerUp. So to help you make some decisions we’re going to have a quick look at some of the highlights. Keep your eyes peeled for adidas and Puma match kit guides next week. But for now, we’re taking a deep dive into Nike’s current match kit offering…

This year’s Nike catalogue introduced us to six brand new match shirts. Also, good news for fans of the Nike Vapor II, Strike, Striped Division III, and Legend jerseys as they will be sticking around for another season at least. And the old faithful Nike Park is back for it’s 7th incarnation (read our tribute to this shirt here).
Those six new jerseys include the three new women’s match kits – the Women’s Park VII, Women’s Strike and Women’s Striped Division III. The Nike ‘Little Kids’ Park Kit is also back to cater for the next generation of wonderkids. Let’s look at a few in more detail…
Nike Challenge III Jersey
The Challenge III is one of the brand new kits for this year. It may look a little familiar to some. It’s unique neckline and sleeve cuffs have the look of this season’s incredibly popular Chelsea 3rd shirt.
So if you’re a fan of that (and club loyalties aside, why wouldn’t you be?) and are looking for a more premium look on the pitch for your team this season, you can’t go far wrong with the Challenge III jersey. It’s subtle diagonal striped effect gives a textured feel, while the slim lined fit provides a tailored and professional look.
Nike Trophy IV Jersey
Next up, when a high performance garment meets beautifully constructed style, what you get is basically something that looks a little bit like the new Nike Trophy IV Jersey. With its elegant and classic polo-style, single-button collar and understated embossed graphic on the front of the shirt, this is this season’s statement match kit.
Available in a range of colour combinations, the versatile Trophy IV could also be utilised off the pitch, as a smart performance polo for travel or leisure time.
Nike Legend Jersey
The Nike Legend has been around for a while now and hopefully many more to come. It’s design is a homage to the Nike kits of the 2002 World Cup. Think Brazil, South Korea and Turkey. Three of the most memorable teams from the tournament all rocked this style. And now your team can too.
Designed to give a modern take on that classic kit with those familiar collar and under arm features. Recreating the goals of Ronaldo (the original one) in the muddy parks of Sheffield and Southend is more realistic than ever with the Legend jersey. Daft haircut optional…

Nike Naija Jersey
Now for something a little bit exclusive. So exclusive that it’s not even in the Nike catalogue. Remember that Nigeria shirt which sent everyone crazy during the 2018 World Cup? Of course you do. The team was pretty forgettable during that tournament but that shirt put them top of the tree in terms of kits.
Well now there’s a teamwear shirt inspired by it’s unique and eye-catching design. The Nike Naija Jersey comes in five mouth-watering colourways. But it’s strictly while stocks last, so move quick if you want your team to be the best dressed team in Sunday League this season.

The extra bits...
But what about us? I hear hundreds of goalkeepers cry… Well we dedicated an article to what’s on offer to those between the sticks earlier this month. Click here to take a look. It features the Nike Park IV and Gardien Goalkeeper shirts.
Let’s face it, it’s the shirts that sell a kit. But a kit is not complete without a decent pair of shorts and socks. Have a browse of Nike Football Shorts and Nike Football Socks to complete your team’s new look.
Like what you see?
With grassroots football back and a return to competitive action around the corner, there’s never been a better time to treat your team to a fresh new Nike kit.
Don’t forget, you can take your Nike match kit to the next level this season with our #PowerUp service. We’ve been powering up kits left right and centre over the last couple of years and the results speak for themselves. We’ve got a bunch of new, ready to go, designs dropping this summer.
Or why not use your own creative juices to create something truly bespoke and tailored to your club? Our in-house design team will help you every step of the way. Or if you’re a bit more traditional and think Nike’s designs are beautiful enough, we also offer print and embroidery. Email your requirements to the guys at [email protected] to get started.
