Over the last 18 months we’ve developed an amazing and incredibly valuable relationship with Seven Hills School, a local Sheffield school for students aged 11 to 19 with special educational needs.

We’ve hosted a number of their classes for “world of work” visits, in which we gave some of their students an insight into a busy workplace. Helping to equip them for leaving school and looking for employment. Some of our staff have also had the pleasure of visiting the school to learn more about the students and what a day at Seven Hills school looks like.

The staff at Seven Hills find that sport is a helpful tool for bringing the students together and teaching them about teamwork. This is especially important for those with autism, who typically prefer to do things on their own. However with stretched budgets and the need to regularly replace equipment, it can be a tricky task to make sure the students have what they need for their PE lessons.

As part of their visits to Kitlocker.com we asked them to come up with some of their own kit designs for us to bring to life as part of our Kitunlocker campaign (check them out here). With the standard of the designs put forward so high, the staff at Seven Hills decided that they should hold a vote for which one would become their new PE kit.

The competition was fierce but the winning design was a shirt that truly represented everything Seven Hills School represents. It features a jigsaw design on the front, symbolising that when people come together they can combine to create a beautiful picture. Plus, on the back of the shirt, the words “GO SEVEN HILLS! WE CAN WIN THIS!” are printed. This represents the determined attitude of the students and their team spirit.

We met up with them a few weeks ago for a kickabout and the long-awaited kit reveal. Find out what the staff and students thought of their new kits in the video below.
