We spent the day with one of the biggest talents in Non League football– Harrogate Town’s Joe Leesley. As well as chatting to the National League North player of the year, we gave him a special World Cup related challenge…

The wide-man reflects on a hugely successful season in which he scored 22 goals as well as an impressive 25 assists. He helped fire Harrogate to play-off success and promotion to the Vanarama National League, which he describes as “the best way to get promoted”.

After overcoming the disappointment of being released as a youngster, the 24 year old now feels he is getting close to Football League level, and would love to get there with Harrogate Town.

Joe also discusses how he feels about the step up to the National League, his hopes for the future and his big international call up with England C. Check out the full interview below.

We also decided to put Joe’s skills to the test to see if he could recreate some of the World Cup’s most famous goals, with some pretty spectacular results. Check out the video below!

Judging from some of those strikes, we’re tipping Joe to take the National League by storm this season, watch this space!
