More about about clubs and the problem of solving yor physical club shop and its problems Scenario One You have an onsite club shop and it’s full of obsolete stock and there is no more space for new lines. You have stuff from the late 90’s in there and if you added up the contents you may be surprised to know the true value of the stock could be as much as £8-10k. Yes you take money but the minimum orders for products are 30 or 50 pieces and most time its 10-12 weeks. If you run out of small drill tops you have to order another 30 even though you don’t need any other sizes. Your stock is just getting bigger and bigger and invariably someone asks for something you haven’t got.
Scenario Two The club has lost its identity; the shop is hardly open as you are short of volunteers to run it. Our club identity isn’t as strong as it used to be. Everyone is wearing kit from years and years ago and the kids are buying what they want from wherever. To club shop or not to club shop? Clubs do not have to have a physical club shop we can run everything for you online this eliminates the need for space, recruiting volunteers to run the shop, expensive insurance and tieing up cash it will also give your members the added benefit of being open 24/7; it’s a win win situation for everyone.

Website commission explained. We offer standard online shops and then for customers who have a forecasted annual turnover in excess of £10,000 per annum we can offer the option to add a commission/margin onto sales. For EXAMPLE the club can sell a product online earning a 20% commission on sales or the club may choose to reduce this commission and pass this benefit onto club members. If the club chooses to have a onsite shop they can buy direct with a commission rate of 30% allowing your club to make a greater margin.
How the pros do it. By using the fusion of both our website and your club shop we have a great model for a healthy margin and sensible stock levels. Our semi professional clubs may have as many as 100 product lines online however they use our sales statistics and quick stocking to only buy in the best selling lines so the club might look to stock 8-10 lines in stock (one in each size) and simple reorder when they sell these. Clubs don’t need have a huge amount of money tied up in stock, whilst they can they can still receive the benefits of bulk buying. We are also happy to use our websites to clear any existing stock the club may have from old rugby product to selling merchandise such as mugs/ties etc.
Why work with a supplier and not direct with a manufacturer?
- Our websites and experience can offer the club a powerful retail opportunity that usually would not be affordable or logistically possible by the club.
- The manufacturer is not interested in the small orders and therefore by buying product from a supplier such as us we care about your every order and our buying power is enough to matter to the manufacturer so that when we shout they listen.
- If the supplier is bad you can change supplier and work with a different supplier to buy the same products, you are not tied by their brand.
- If the manufacturer has problems and you are happy with the supplier then they can often place you with an alternative brand or provide similar products.
